He's not on the court, but Kawhi Leonard is definitely staying engaged.

Kristaps Porzingis is the first Knick with 35 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks in a game since Patrick Ewing in 1996. Patrick never hit 5 threes in one of those games though. Per Tommy Beer of Basketball Insiders, Porzingis is the first player in NBA history to have that combination with 5 made threes.

Kristaps Porzingis (35 points, 11 rebounds, 5 blocks) helps lift the Knicks to a win in overtime against the Lakers. Michael Beasley had 12 points (6-for-8), 3 rebounds, an assist and a steal in the 4th quarter & OT to boost NYK. Frank Ntilikina added a career-high 13 points to go along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds against draft mate Lonzo Ball.

Been a while since I watched Porzingis and he is whiny about fouls these days

The Cavs beat the Hawks 123-114 to collect their 15th win in their last 16 games. Nice job by Luke Walton's Lakers fouling with 4.5 seconds to play and forcing the Knicks to re-set. They had the ball in Kristaps Porzingis' hands in a comfortable spot before the foul.

Final possession here for the Knicks. I have to think Jeff Hornacek is trying to get Kristaps Porzingis to use the double team that will come his way to the Knicks' advantage.

Tim Hardaway Jr. is wearing a pretty large boot to protect the stress ailment in his lower left leg. It doesn't seem like he'd be ready to come back any time soon but it's worth noting that he was walking without a limp earlier when he didn't have the boot on. He'll be re-evaluated next Tuesday.

Important thing to watch will be whether the Spurs continue to play through LaMarcus Aldridge with Kawhi Leonard back in the lineup. Spurs went to Aldridge early in this one.

LaVar Ball is relishing his role as an instigator on the road. He never sits courtside at Staples Center.

Career-high alert: Kristaps Porzingis has 29 points (11-for-16) with three minutes to go in the third quarter. His career-high is 40.

Jeff Hornacek subs in Frank Ntilikina, presumably in an effort to cool off Lonzo Ball. Ball has scored or assisted on 10 Laker points in the last three minutes.

Kristaps Porzingis with five quick points in the second half to energize the MSG crowd. He's scored from all over the floor tonight, hitting 9 of 14 shots.

Luke Walton says he stays in touch with ex-Knicks president Phil Jackson and receives coaching advice from him. He commented on Jackson's firing before the Knicks-Lakers game Tuesday. "I don't know all the details of what was going on here, obviously, but a mentor to me like that and someone that means as much to me as Phil does, I feel, I'm not in favor of it happening. But again, I'm coaching in the west coast and I'm not around out here to see everything and how and why everything played out the way it did…. I love the triangle offense. I wanted to see that work. But for whatever reasons it didn't."

Lavar Ball's taking pictures and shaking hands at halftime. He's been greeted by both Amar'e Stoudemire and Spike Lee at his courtside seats.
