The Philadelphia 76ers' Joel Embiid and the San Antonio Spurs' Kawhi Leonard were named NBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, Jan. 16 through Sunday, Jan. 22. Leonard led the Western Conference in scoring (36.3 ppg) and added 6.0 rebounds and 4.7 assists as the Spurs went 3-0. Sam Dekker took heat from some fans in his native state of Wisconsin when the Rockets beat the Bucks on Jan. 18. "I don't know what I did to them," Dekker said of that game when he scored five points. "The Bucks' fans were on me for some reason I don't know what it was. I'm a long time guy, it was my team growing up. I feel like I played a lot of good basketball in my day in the state but I was surprised at some of the stuff I saw. It's all good, it should be a lot of fun on Monday." Rockets visit Bucks tonight and Dekker, a native of Sheboygan, is coming off a career-high 30 point Saturday night at Memphis.
