Already several special moments for this Sixers crowd halfway through the first quarter, and they feature the young stars, Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. Embiid opened the scoring less than 30 seconds in with a dunk after a feed from Simmons. Then Embiid got fans roaring with a 3, before Simmons followed that up with a dunk of his own.

Asked if he was able to glean anything from the way the Celtics beat Golden State on Thursday, Sixers coach Brett Brown said, "I'm always paying attention to the Celtics. There's toughness there." It's Boston's physicality that Brown believes is worth emulating against the Warriors' potent offense.

Warmups for tonight's Warriors/76ers game were delayed as operations crews scrambled to change the arena from a hockey rink to a basketball court. As you can see, the court is in place.

Earlier this afternoon Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Center hosted an overtime hockey game featuring the Flames and Flyers. Because of the late finish, warmups were delayed for the 76ers and Warriors, who are now frantically shooting on the court. Said Warriors coach Steve Kerr: "Guys just have to figure it out. It's not a big deal. Go out there, get some shots up and be ready to play." Oh, and Calgary won, 5-4.

Iman Shumpert, who sat out the second half Friday vs LAC because of discomfort in his left knee, is out 5-7 days with a left knee effusion, per the Cavs. He was examined Saturday at the Cleveland Clinic. Cleveland's point guard woes continue. Jose Calderon, who started the second half against the Clippers, will likely be leaned on, along with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.

Kyrie Irving ditched his protective mask in the third quarter of Thursday's win over the Golden State Warriors but expects to be back in it on Saturday in Atlanta. Why? "Just in the best interests of myself," said Irving, who has a facial fracture below his right eye.
