The Hawks' bench has provided a major spark for Mike Budenholzer. Atlanta's subs have outscored Washington's bench, 24-12, in the first half. Kent Bazemore is having his best game of the series with 10 points, 5 assists and 2 steals in the first half alone. Jose Calderon has drilled a couple of 3's with Dwight Howard helping open things up for the Hawks' offense with 14 points and 11 rebounds in the first half.

Kent Bazemore is picking up the play-making slack with Dennis Schroder saddled with three fouls. Bazemore has five assists, including a thunderous alley-oop to Dwight Howard. Howard is finally making his presence felt in this series with 13 points and 8 rebounds. He's not only active on the glass but he's muscling the Wizards in the paint, something Paul Millsap will surely welcome. Now Marcin Gortat has to deal with Howard and Millsap on the glass.

Dwane Casey's move to start Norman Powell has paid huge dividends. Powell has followed up a 12-point effort in Game 4 with 21 points in three quarters thus far in Game 5. Powell has made all four of his 3-point attempts and he's given the Raptors offense a new weapon while Milwaukee's Khris Middleton continues to struggle with only eight points.

Mike Budenholzer's point guards are in foul trouble. Dennis Schroder and Jose Calderon have three personal fouls midway through the second quarter. The Hawks have had issues with solid backup point guard play so Bud will keep Calderon in with Schroder on the bench.

The Lakers are sending president of basketball operations Earvin "Magic" Johnson and general manager Rob Pelinka to the May 16 NBA draft lottery in New York City. Johnson will represent the Lakers on stage and Pelinka will represent them in the back room where the drawing will take place. The Lakers have a top-three protected pick in the upcoming draft and, after finishing with the league's third-worst record at 26-56, the team has about a 47 percent chance of keeping that pick, according to ESPN's Basketball Power Index. If the Lakers lose that pick, it will go to the Philadelphia 76ers.
