The Houston Rockets will make a bid to host the 2020 or 2021 NBA All-Star Game, a source confirmed to ESPN.
The Houston Chronicle was the first to report the Rockets' plans.
A source told ESPN the Rockets are always open to hosting major NBA events at the Toyota Center. Houston has hosted the All-Star Game in 1989, 2006 and 2013. The Toyota Center hosted the 2006 and 2013 games, and the Astrodome hosted the 1989 contest.
In the past two years, Houston has hosted the Final Four and the Super Bowl, so it has the marketing and number of hotel rooms necessary for a major event.
