Wake Forest sophomore forward John Collins announced Wednesday that he will sign with an agent and remain in the NBA draft.
The 6-foot-10 sophomore had previously stated that he would test the NBA draft process but not hire an agent. However, according to sources, he was comfortable with the feedback he had received and has decided to forgo his final two years of college eligibility.
Collins made a huge jump this past season, improving his NBA stock as much as anyone in the country. After averaging 7.3 points and 3.9 rebounds as a freshman, he averaged 19.2 points and 9.8 boards and went from someone who wasn't even on draft boards to a likely first-round pick.
ESPN's Chad Ford has Collins going 29th to the San Antonio Spurs in his latest mock draft.
