Ankle injury sidelines Trail Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic

Portland Trail Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic left the Trail Blazers' 106-92 loss to the Washington Wizards on Tuesday night with a right ankle injury.

The team announced that X-rays were negative.

Nurkic landed awkwardly and injured his ankle after attempting a jump shot. He was down on the court in noticeable pain for an extended period. Nurkic got up and attempted a free-throw attempt before leaving the game with 6:28 to play in the fourth quarter.

He finished with 15 points and nine rebounds against the Wizards.
