Isaiah Thomas had a rough ending of the first half. Looked like he hurt his groin going for a pass. But he finished the half. However he was upset he was stripped of the ball near halfcourt and didn't get the call. He complained about it with ref Courtney Kirkland after the first half buzzer. He got a technical as he walked off to court. Thomas has a team-leading 11 points as the Celtics trail the Rockets 58-48.

Celtics a very strong bet to make playoffs

ESPN's Basketball Power Index is ready to book Boston's ticket to the postseason. They're less bullish on the team's Atlantic Division title chances. The Celtics' less than one percent chance of a top-three pick does not account for a pick swap with the Nets (56 percent) this year.

Al Horford is walking through that door

Al Horford's 26 points and six blocks in the Celtics' win over the Kings was the first 25 point, six block game since Kevin McHale dropped 33 points and rejected six shots in 1990, per the Elias Sports Bureau. McHale (four times) and Robert Parish (eight) are the only other Celtics to do that.

The NBA's unofficial blocks leader? Not Anthony Davis. Not Rudy Gobert. Not Hassan Whiteside. It's Boston's Al Horford at 2.9 blocks per game (he doesn't qualify for official league leaders due to lack of games played).
