Ex-Pacer Chris Copeland is playing with a Colorado alumni team in The Basketball Tournament this summer, which has a winner-take-all $2 million prize. Copeland and his Colorado team are the No. 1 seed in the Super 16 round in New York this season. They face a team of Indiana alumni, including Christian Watford and Will Sheehey, on Saturday with a spot in the regional final on the line.

The $1.3M contract for Georges Niang would have been guaranteed on July 15. The Pacers will incur a $100K cap hit and see their room increase to $5.7M. Indiana now has 13 guaranteed contracts including 2nd round pick Ike Anigbogu who recently inked a $950K guaranteed contract for the 2017-18 season.

Indiana will see their cap space shrink from $12.6M to $5.7M once the trade to acquire Cory Joseph is completed. Joseph is under contract for the next two years at a contract of $7.6M and $7.9M (Player Option). Indiana now has 12 guaranteed contracts.

Pacers finish 4-1 in Orlando

The Indiana Pacers defeated the Thunder 89-80 in Thursday's third-place game in the Orlando Summer League. Jarnell Stokes and Naz Mitrou-Long each scored a team-high 17 points in the win.

The trade sending Paul George to the Thunder is officially official. "As for the trade, it was difficult both on a personal and professional level," Pacers GM Kevin Pritchard said. "Everyone here knows what Paul meant to this franchise; he was both a tremendous human being as well as player here for seven years. We thank Paul and his family for their contributions to the Pacers and wish him well."

Indiana has two options when it comes to the Monta Ellis waiver. The Pacers can elect to stretch his contract over five seasons with a $2.2M cap charge or take the full $11.3M guaranteed cap hit. Stretching the contract would see the Pacers with a projected $25M in room. Although Ellis contract was non-guaranteed for 2018-19, NBA rules counts that season in the formula used for stretching a player. The Pacers will have 48 hours to make a decision.

J.J. Redick's decision will be a domino that clarifies the market for C.J. Miles. According to a source, Miles is a Plan B for multiple teams who have made Redick a priority. Miles, a versatile defender who averaged 10.8 points and shot 41.3 percent from 3-point range for the Pacers last season, has positioned himself to receive a significant raise.
