Looking to add depth, the Miami Heat signed wing DeAndre Liggins to a 10-day contract Tuesday.
Liggins had been playing for the Heat's NBA Development League team, the Sioux Falls (S.D.) SkyForce. He was averaging 14.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.5 steals and was named a D-League All-Star.
The 6-foot-6 Liggins played last season for the Oklahoma City Thunder and averaged 1.5 points in 39 games. The Thunder waived him in September following his arrest for domestic violence.
A clerk for an Oklahoma County judge said this month that the felony charges were dropped. Defense attorney Tony Coleman said prosecutors are expected to refile the charge as a single misdemeanor count of domestic abuse.
While the Heat are taking a look at Liggins, they are expected still to be in the market for players who might get contract buyouts before Saturday's deadline.
