Federico Kammerichs


Notes: One of the most promising young players from Argentina, Kammerichs signed with Valencia of Spain for the 2001-02 season, then was sent on loan to Ourense in Spains LEB (second division) so he could receive more playing time. Came to Spain after breakthrough season in Argentina as a 20-year-old in 2000-01 season. Now a member of Argentinas Nation Team after previously playing on the Junior National Team and the Under-21 National Team. Played in the LEB All-Star Game in 2002 and Argentinas All-Star Game in 2001.

Captured the attention of NBA scouts with his performance at the World Basketball Championship for Young Men played in Japan in August 2001. Averaged 13.4 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists for third place Argentina. His rebound average was in the top 10 for the competition. Scored 21 points in a quarterfinal victory over Australia. Tallied 12 points and 11 rebounds vs. gold-medal winning USA Basketball squad.
