FARGO, N.D. -- The Fargo Dome Authority has reached a
tentative deal to settle a nearly two-year long dispute over how
much North Dakota State University should pay to overhaul a portion
of the Fargodome for Bison football.
The dome will ask NDSU for $57,500 per year to rent space for
coaches' offices and take over locker rooms at the dome.
NDSU also will pay about $500,000 to build replacement locker
Dome Authority member Dale Beling said NDSU officials have
agreed to the deal, though it is not yet in writing.
The NDSU Development Foundation has agreed to pay for renovating
the space in the dome for the Bison football program. The
university's rent will go up 5 percent every 10 years.
The Dome Authority approved the agreement earlier this week.
Officials now will write a lease agreement and seek approval from
the school and the city.
Bison football coach Craig Bohl said he wants to have the new
space in the dome available by fall.
