Schweitzer leads Jayhawks' comeback versus Hawaii

CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Kansas senior Jared Schweitzer hit a
single, a double, a triple and a homer as the Jayhawks erased a 5-0
deficit to defeat Hawaii 9-6 in the opening game of the NCAA
Corvallis Regional at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.
Schweitzer's two-run sixth-inning home run put Kansas ahead 7-5
after teammate Buck Afenir's solo homer to start the inning tied
the game. Schweitzer's homer -- his 10th of the season -- also
completed his cycle, following a triple in the first, a single in
the third and a double in the fourth.
Schweitzer nearly added another home run in the eighth when he
led off the inning with a deep fly ball that was caught at the
warning track in left-center field. He finished 4-for-5 with two
RBIs and two runs scored.
Teammate Ritchie Price was 2-for-4 with three runs scored. Erik
Morrison and Ryne Price also had home runs for the Jayhawks
Hawaii's Matt Inouye was 1-for-3 with two RBIs to lead the
Rainbows (43-16).

to pick up the win, improving to 3-2 on the season. Hawaii reliever
Matt Daly allowed two runs in two innings, taking his first loss of
the season (6-1).
