NC State's comeback eliminates UT Arlington

AUSTIN -- Matt Camp bunted home the winning run with two
outs in the 10th inning to cap North Carolina State's 6-5
come-from-behind victory over Texas-Arlington in the Austin
Regional on Saturday.
The Wolfpack (39-22) trailed the elimination game 5-3 after six
innings but pulled even on Camp's two-out RBI single in the eighth.
Marcus Jones, who entered the game as a pinch-runner two innings
earlier, started N.C. State's 10th with a single, went to second
base on a sacrifice bunt and moved to third on a flyout. He scored
when Camp dropped a bunt single toward third base.
Texas-Arlington (29-36) loaded the bases with one out in the
bottom of the ninth, but N.C. State's Joel Brookens came out of the
bullpen to get David McLeod to ground into a double play.
Brookens (1-1) pitched 1 2/3 hitless innings, and the Wolfpack
bullpen shut out Texas-Arlington on four hits over the final 5 2/3
innings. Brandon Endsley (1-4) took the loss for the Mavericks,
allowing a hit and a run over 1 1/3 innings.
Texas-Arlington scored four runs to take a 5-3 lead in the
fifth, keyed by Collin Garner's three-run double. Garner and Kyle
Rudy had three hits apiece for the Mavericks.
Brian Aragon went 4-for-4 with two RBIs for N.C. State, which
will face Saturday's loser between Texas and Stanford in another
elimination game Sunday.
