Wildcats golf coach Allen takes same position at Vanderbilt

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Greg Allen has resigned as Arizona women's
golf coach to take the same post at Vanderbilt, the Tucson
university announced Tuesday.

Allen coached the Wildcats since 2000, directing them to Pac-10
titles his first two seasons and a runner-up finish in the NCAA
championships in 2002. Among his pupils was Lorena Ochoa, now the
No. 1 ranked player on the LPGA tour.

At Vanderbilt, Allen replaces Martha Richards, who resigned last
month to take the head coaching position at Texas.
