Markelle Fultz seems destined to follow Ben Simmons' example

Washington's freshman guard is every bit as good as advertised and a potential No. 1 pick. But the Huskies' ugly loss to Gonzaga does not bode well.

Bracketology: The quick rise of Baylor basketball

Remember way, way back on Nov. 3 -- a whole four weeks ago -- when Baylor debuted as a No. 8 seed? Well, things have changed -- in a hurry. The Bears have made a big move.

Indiana State Upsets Butler

Potential No. 1 pick Markelle Fultz had Washington's only real highlights in the first half against Gonzaga, a pretty left-handed spin and finish in transition and a pro-move step back jumper ... but finished 3 of 14 from the field and went into the locker room trailing 47-22. UW is rough enough when Fultz plays well (and he usually has); when he's off, they're doomed.

Derrick White just scored 23 for Colorado in a win against Xavier. Such a cool story. Spent three years at D-2 Colorado-Colorado Springs.

Another upset in Indiana as Indiana State KO's No. 16 Butler. Brenton Scott finished with 24 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals, and he also made the late, game-winning free throw that sealed the 72-71 win. In late November, his twin brother, Bryson Scott, led Fort Wayne with 18 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in his team's upset of Indiana. Not a bad stretch for the Scott family.

Heyward scores from far, far away
