56. George Kaftan, Holy Cross
A reserve guard by the name of Bob Cousy would go on to be the most famous player from Holy Cross' 1947 national championship team, but it was George Kaftan who lifted the Crusaders to their first and only title. Kaftan scored 63 of Holy Cross' 173 points in its three wins, earning Final Four Most Outstanding Player honors. The Crusaders fell to Kansas State in the third-place game the following year, with Kaftan averaging 13.7 points per game.
