Indiana hires Dayton's Miller as new coach
Archie Miller, who had guided Dayton to four consecutive NCAA tournament appearances, has been hired by the Hoosiers to replace Tom Crean, it was announced Saturday.
Archie Miller could have had his pick of jobs the last few years -- waited it out for an elite-level job. Indiana came open before Ohio State, and he wasn't going to wait any longer. Great hire by Indiana.
Indiana is tentatively scheduling a news conference for Monday to introduce Dayton's Archie Miller as its next head basketball coach. Miller has been a perennial winner at Dayton. He knows the Midwest in recruiting, but is outside the Indiana family. There had been speculation that the Hoosiers would stay in the family tree, but AD Fred Glass never said that was a requirement.
