Cool deal by Pat Chambers. Penn St will play Michigan St in Big Ten game on Jan. 7, 2017 at Palestra. Will count as home game for Penn St.

Dana O'Neil ESPN Senior Writer

Tom Izzo has played on an aircraft carrier and at military bases. He's visited Rupp Arena and the Dean Dome. In fact the coach who says he will play anyone anywhere has played just about everywhere. But when Penn State coach Patrick Chambers texted Izzo with a pseudo-neutral site league game, Izzo realized he'd never played at the Palestra. Now with the Big Ten signing off on it, Izzo can check the historic gym off his bucket list. Penn State, with six Philly guys on its roster, will host Michigan State on January 7 at the Palestra. "It was a no brainier," Izzo said.
