Badgers coach Bo Ryan kept Leuer on the bench at the start of Thursday night's loss to Minnesota, but put him in less than 3 minutes in. Leuer had been out since Jan. 9 because of a broken left wrist. He leads the Badgers with 15.4 points per game.
The 6-foot-10 Leuer is one of Wisconsin's most versatile players, able to score inside and outside. He started the first 16 games before getting hurt, bracing himself after a fall during a game against Purdue. Leuer missed nine games.
Leuer is from Orono, Minn., just outside the Twin Cities.
