The only times Louisville has been able to get any offensive momentum in the second is when Donovan Mitchell makes something happen on his own. That's the biggest concern with the Cardinals; do they have the firepower to consistently beat good teams deep in the NCAA Tournament?

Not a knock on Quentin Snider, but Louisville offense just seems better with the ball in Donovan Mitchell's hands. He's scored 11 of Cardinals 13 points this half -- and he assisted the other basket.

I think North Carolina got the memo about being more aggressive and attacking Louisville at the rim.

ESPN Stats and Information

No. 6 Oregon trails Cal 30-16 at half. It's Oregon's fewest points in any half under Dana Altman (since 2010-11).

North Carolina up three at half despite being outscored by Louisville 26-12 in points in the paint. Tar Heels have only been outscored in that category three times this season (Davidson-W, @Georgia Tech-L, @Miami-L)

Pitino was trying to get a timeout about as soon as Mathiang picked up his dribble. No one saw him to call it

Louisville defense has Carolina a bit out of sorts. Heels already with 5 turnovers -- they averaged only 12.1 per game

Dean Smith Center crowd just erupted as Syracuse win over Duke displayed on video boards.

Game so far reminds me of a favorite saying of a former professor, "all forward movement is not progress." Carolina with 5 offensive rebounds, but it's shooting 2-14 FG

Bank shot. Good. Cuse in tourney? Wow

Grayson Allen was 0 for 6 and 1 for 9. And with Syracuse up two and crowd going bananas he drains a three. Unreal ... courage there

Diagonal across the paint, left-handed, to the only spot Carlton Bragg could catch it, from 20 feet away. Goodness what a pass by Josh Jackson.

Luke Kennard twice dinged with over the back fouls. He and Grayson Allen each have four, as does Frank Jackson. Duke's lean guard rotation may bite them here. Going to have to be some savvy subbing for 7 minutes.
