Indiana State Upsets Butler

Brenton Scott hit a free throw to put Indiana State ahead, giving the Sycamores a 72-71 upset win over No. 16 Butler and setting off a court-storming in Terre Haute.

Another upset in Indiana as Indiana State KO's No. 16 Butler. Brenton Scott finished with 24 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals, and he also made the late, game-winning free throw that sealed the 72-71 win. In late November, his twin brother, Bryson Scott, led Fort Wayne with 18 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in his team's upset of Indiana. Not a bad stretch for the Scott family.

Heyward scores from far, far away

Georgia Tech's Corey Heyward drills a buzzer-beater from three-quarters court against VCU as the first half ends. The Yellow Jackets lead 36-28 at the break.

Raise your hand if you had TCU as one of the last 11 unbeaten teams in the nation? Yeah, didn't think so. But Kenrich Williams is back to full health after sitting out with a knee injury last year, riding back-to-back double doubles entering tonight's game with SMU. Plus, the defense has been stellar: forcing the 6th most turnovers in the country. They play their one and only non-conference road game tonight vs SMU, 7 CT on ESPNEWS.

One coach on Mike White: "Really good young coach and has Florida guarding and playing hard," he said. "The question is whether he can recruit at a high-enough level, especially in the SEC -- where a lot of guys aren't exactly playing by the rules these days." Multiple coaches echoed these comments to me. White probably won't get many McDonald's All-Americans, but does have a pair of Top 75 guys committed for next year: Isaiah Stokes (ESPN, No. 60) and DeAundre Ballard (65).

So focused on Duke last night and play of Kennard, Amile, Tatum — was easy to overlook Florida. Mike White done a nice job with this team.

Cubs win Series, and say Northwestern then makes the NCAA tournament. Biblical Chicago karma tells me Duke will lose title game to DePaul.
