I've talked to multiple NBA guys who have raved about N.C. State's overall talent. It's why I'll have them firmly in my Preseason Power Rankings -- despite some concerns about Gottfried. Dennis Smith has looked phenomenal to everyone who has been through Raleigh -- and the ball shouldn't stick nearly as much with him running the show as it did with Cat Barber. Smith should be a clear-cut lottery pick -- if he stays healthy. Skilled 7-footer Omer Yurtseven (possible first-rounder) still isn't cleared, but staff is confident he'll only miss a few games. Keys are a healthy Terry Henderson and addition of Charlotte transfer Torin Dorn. No glaring holes with this team. Athletic, have size, experience, depth, terrific PG. N.C. State has Top 10 overall talent.

Five-star guard Trae Young tells ESPN will take an official visit to Oklahoma State this weekend. It will be his final official visit, but he still expects to sign late. Young has already visited Oklahoma, Kansas, Kentucky and Texas Tech.

Just looking at Wisconsin intra-squad scrimmage stats. Nigel Hayes with just two boards and 5 of his 8 shots from beyond the arc. I realize it's just a scrimmage, but he needs to get in the paint and do some work for the Badgers to be a legitimate Top 10 team. Such a difficult matchup when he relies less on the 3-ball.

Hartford just landed 6-foot-10 Serbian Filip Petrusev, who is at Avon Old Farms in Conn. Significant get for John Gallagher and the Hawks.

Rodney McGruder, Troy Williams, Fred Van Vleet, Ron Baker, Bryan Forbes all "hard coached" in college. They fought for roster spots & won.

So much fun seeing guys make NBA rosters who were longshots. Congrats to Rodney McGruder, Troy Williams, Fred Van Vleet, Bryn Forbes.
