Rick Pitino's federal lawsuit Adidas' actions have caused grave damage to his "public and private standing and reputation, causing him extreme embarrassment, humiliation, and emotional distress." The lawsuit says it is "about more than just money; it is Coach Pitino's vehicle for proving that he had nothing to do with Adidas' outrageous, wrongful, and illegal conspiracy."

Rick Pitino sued Adidas America in federal court on Tuesday, one day after he was formally fired as Louisville's basketball coach. In the civil lawsuit, Pitino alleges he suffered damages as a result of Adidas' "outrageous conduct in conspiring to funnel money to the family of a college basketball recruit...all without Coach Pitino's knowledge, participation, or acquiescense."

Kansas coach Bill Self confirms that the Jayhawks will play Missouri in an exhibition game on Oct. 22 in Kansas City, with proceeds from the game to help hurricane victims. Self says this game has nothing to do with the dormant KU-Mizzou rivalry. "We have an opportunity, with NCAA approval, to do something for others." He said the schools hope to raise more than $1 million.
