The Florida-South Carolina East Region Elite Eight marks the first time two teams are meeting in this round after not making the NCAA tournament the previous season since UConn-Arizona in 2011. Neither made the 2010 NCAA tournament.

South Carolina coach Frank Martin said this run to the Elite Eight has been "unbelievable.'' He said he usually spends a quiet moment in the morning with his coffee thinking/dreaming. Taking South Carolina to this level was something he certainly dreamt about happening. "I haven't slept well, but that's OK. I can sleep in April and May.''

What was the moment that got South Carolina's late-year momentum going? To Gamecocks coach Frank Martin, it was the night his team lost at Florida. SC is 5-2 with some big wins since that 81-66 loss on Feb. 21.

John Calipari is emphasizing Bam Adebayo's selfless approach to the season. Says he made a critical impact on Friday's game that the box scores did not highlight. Reiterates that he's never complained about his minutes or touches.

Florida's Chris Chiozza said even if he had been forced to change direction on the buzzer beating shot -- even one step by Wisconsin -- he thinks he still would have gotten off a good look. Still made it? Well, we can all speculate on that one.

When Florida coach Mike White was in his first year at Louisiana Tech, he said former official Mark Whitehead (now SEC head of officials) told him after he was challenging the officials that the more concerned he was with them, the less concerned he was with his team. He has taken that advice.

Andy Katz ESPN Senior Writer

Mike White could have used his father Kevin White, a highly successful and connected AD at high-profile schools during his career, to move up the food chain or go into administration. But he chose his own path. Assistant. Got Louisiana Tech. Stayed. Didn't jump. And got a chance to coach Florida. Has the right calming demeanor on the sideline. Never too high or too low. He said today that his ascension to the Gators head coaching profession has been very rewarding.

Florida coach Mike White admits he's a little "worried" about how his team responds emotionally to Friday's win. This morning at team breakfast, he asked players how they felt. Some admitted physical and mental fatigue after the late, overtime finish last night. He told players to try to turn off their phones last night; respond to the hundreds of text messages after Sunday's game.

Devin Robinson said he thought at first Chiozza was throwing a lob. "It was floating and I was like, "oh snap, that thing might go on."

Florida brought almost half the team to the off-day news conference. As for Chris Chiozza, he says he probably heard from "everybody I've met in life" after hitting last night's game-winner. He tried not to reply to too many of the more than 200 text messages so he could get a little rest. He hit "read all" on all of them.
