Trae Young took a seat with eight minutes to play in the first half at Allen Fieldhouse. He's been thoroughly outplayed by Devonte' Graham. The freshman is 0 for 5 shooting. Three of his attempts were blocked at the rim. Oklahoma is all out of sorts, without a 3-point field goal and 7 for 23 from the field. Kansas leads 30-17, trying to take over sole possession of first place in the Big 12.

Oklahoma freshman Trae Young, the national leader in scoring at 29 PPG, is shooting 4 for 27 from 3-point range in the Sooners' past three games, all losses. Young had the attention of Allen Fieldhouse throughout OU warmups. He scored 26 on 7-of-9 shooting in Oklahoma's win last month over Kansas.

Will Oklahoma, which has lost five straight, try to rekindle some of its earlier form by going back to the Hack-a-Dok strategy that helped it beat Kansas 85-80 on Jan. 23? The Sooners intentionally fouled 7-foot Kansas center Udoka Azubuike several times in the win as he shot 1 of 7 from the line. Azubuike has slightly improved his free-throw shooting over the past month. He was at 41 percent before the debacle in Norman; he's now shooting 44.7 percent.

Another Big Monday at tap at Allen Fieldhouse, where No. 8 Kansas faces slumping Oklahoma and star freshman Trae Young tonight. The Jayhawks are also home next Monday against Texas, sandwiched around a visit Saturday to Texas Tech, which will loom extremely large in Kansas' bid to win at least a share of its 14th straight Big 12 title. Coach Bill Self is 24-0 at home on Big Monday.

Spoke with E.J Montgomery who currently sits at no.16 in the ESPN 100. He has visited Duke and North Carolina unofficially and plans to go back to both for official visits. Kentucky is up next for an official visit on February 24th. He and is family are deciding on a fourth visit between Georgetown and Wake Forest. At 6'10" Montgomery possesses a 7'2" wing span with a soft mid-range touch. He is playing with more assertiveness and that has translated to his rebounding numbers. The bottom line is he has made steady progress over his career with plenty of growth left in his game.

Houston (21-5), on the strength of a five-game winning streak including a win over Cincinnati, is No. 23 in the latest Associated Press top 25 poll. It's the first time the Cougars have been ranked in the AP poll since Dec. 12, 2005.

Texas Tech leading scorer Keenan Evans, who left the Red Raiders loss to Baylor on Saturday with a toe injury, is day-to-day, coach Chris Beard confirmed Monday. Evans missed the entire second half on Saturday. Texas Tech, who is tied for first in the Big 12 with Kansas, plays at Oklahoma State on Wednesday.

Not many have had a better five game stretch than Baylor's 6'8" senior forward Terry Maston. He is shooting 63% from the field and is averaging 16ppg during that span. The Bears have won 5 in a row. Scott Drew's team is improving and peaking at the right time in the Big 12 conference.

AAC race getting awfully interesting. Cincinnati a game up, but still has to play at Wichita. Wichita still has to travel to SMU and UCF before hosting Cincinnati. And Houston has the easiest remaining schedule.

Gregg Marshall in a tough spot with Austin Reaves (2-for-4 from the 3-point line). He's a good shooter in a close game. But Cane Broome is torching him right now.
