Brian Earl, who helped Princeton return to its winning ways during nine seasons as an assistant and associate head coach, has been hired as the head coach at Cornell.
Cornell parts ways with coach Courtney
Bill Courtney went just 60-113 with the Big Red, never finishing above .500 in six seasons. He became head coach in 2010, replacing Steve Courtney, who left for Boston College after winning three straight Ivy League titles.
Bill Courtney has been fired by Cornell after serving as the team's coach for five seasons.
The Ivy League will no longer be the only Division I conference without a conference tournament, as it announced that a four-team bracket to determine its NCAA tournament bid will start in 2017.
Cornell University freshman Xavier Eaglin has been charged with first-degree rape and first-degree criminal sex act. He is being held on $50,000 bail.
