Loyola-Chicago holds off Wright State 84-80

Bruno Skokna made a key steal with 10 seconds left and Marques Townes secured it with 1 of 2 free throws as Loyola-Chicago beat Wright State 84-80 in the season opener for both teams on Friday night.

HC Porter Moser of Loyola-Chicago landed an elite rebounder in Franklin Agunanne. At 6'8" 240 lbs with a 7'3" wingspan he cleans the glass with two hands and makes rebounding a priority. Plenty of Power 5 schools showed interest in Agunanne, who plays at La Lumiere. He will be one of the better freshmen in the Missouri Valley Conference next year.

Hawks to work out six Wednesday

The Hawks announced they'll be hosting six prospects Wednesday for a pre-draft workout: Gonzaga C Przemek Karnowski, Cal G Jabari Bird, Loyola (Ill.) G Milton Doyle, Lehigh F/C Tim Kempton, Middle Tennessee F Reggie Upshaw, Colorado G Derrick White.
