Marcus Coker

Running back | Iowa

Coker, a freshman from Beltsville, Md., was thrust into Iowa's lineup after starter Adam Robinson was suspended before the Insight Bowl on Dec. 28. Coker, who didn't play in six of the Hawkeyes' first seven games, responded by running 33 times for 219 yards with two touchdowns in a 27-24 victory over Missouri at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Ariz.

Coker set Iowa bowl records for rushing attempts and rushing yards in helping the Hawkeyes win their third consecutive bowl game. He also might bring stability to a position that has plagued the Hawkeyes because of injuries and off-field problems.
