39. Chuck Long

Quarterback | Iowa

The lightly recruited quarterback was named Iowa's starter three games into his second season and never looked back.

Long's Big Ten records for both passing (10,461 yards) and total offense (10,254 yards) lasted 15 years. He still holds Iowa marks for passing, completions, touchdown passes and total offense. He earned first-team All-Big Ten honors three times, finished second and seventh in Heisman Trophy voting and won the Maxwell Award in 1985.

Selected No. 12 overall in the 1986 NFL draft, Long appeared in only 27 pro games, throwing 19 touchdowns and 28 interceptions.
