Solar Panels/Netum Steed: An exciting new project began on the Texas A&M campus on March 28, 2011. A 27.6-kW photovoltaic (PV) solar panel array appeared on the previously unused rooftop of the Netum Steed building and is visible from the seats in Kyle Field at Texas A&M. This project is the result of a faculty grant funded in part by the Texas State Energy Conservation Office (SECO). SECO aims to demonstrate PV application and integration in the campus environment, maximize public outreach and education on solar renewable energy, and study, analyze and promote photovoltaic energy systems in Texas.
