The gold star has nothing on this sticker.
Florida State's coveted tomahawk helmet sticker is tangible proof of a highlight-worthy play, a touchdown, a drive-stopping tackle or a game-winning field goal. Every sticker tells a story. The longstanding tradition began as a way to honor outstanding performances on the field, but in 1997, the Seminoles began receiving tomahawks for academic achievements as well. The stickers are another source of bragging rights.
Players know, though, not to get too attached -- the sticker can be removed as easily as it was placed. Poor performance on the field or in the classroom is cause for a decal demotion.
