Birmingham, Ala. | Nov. 30, 1985

Three lead changes in the fourth quarter of the 1985 Iron Bowl left Alabama behind Auburn, 23-22, at its own 12 with :52 and no timeouts. In five plays, quarterback Mike Shula took Alabama to the Auburn 35 with :06 to spare. Tide kicker Van Tiffin raced onfield and, without time to think, drilled the 52-yard field goal that made him a Crimson hero for all time.
