Does the name Andrew Brown ring a bell? To help jog your memory, Brown was the fifth-ranked player in the 2014 class and No. 1 defensive tackle, and he's finally emerging into a star, surpassing his career totals in sacks and TFLs in just four games for Virginia. "He continues to be just completely disruptive and teams that don't have some kind of plan to chip or double him, we end up sacking the quarterback pretty early and pretty often," coach Bronco Mendenhall said.

Understandably, UCLA coach Jim Mora was not happy with how the running game operated against Stanford. The Bruins ran for just 77 yards, but after watching the game back Mora said "the game plan was as sound as it could be." The problem, he said, was that there were some "enormous" holes that just weren't hit. It appears Bolu Olurunfunmi could be in line for more playing time after averaging 4.6 yards per carry (51 yards on 11 carries). Nate Starks (10 carries, 24 yards) and Soso Jamabo (7 carries, 17 yards) weren't nearly as effective. "You'll still see all three, but you'll see less of two and more of one," Mora said.

Dalvin Cook broke out against USF with a career-high 267 yards, but he didn't share the fan base's angst about his slow start. Cook said it was a matter of time before he broke loose, and that too many were caught up in the numbers.

Ever wonder what open in-season practice periods looked like at LSU? Honestly, me too. The Tigers' new interim coach Ed Orgeron offered a glimpse, opening 30 minutes of his first practice since replacing Les Miles to reporters. The last time LSU held an open practice during the season? That's up for debate, but it has apparently been at least a decade.

Florida State cornerback Marquez White said North Carolina QB Mitch Trubisky is the most accurate passer he'll likely face this season. He's completing 74.5 percent of his passes, which ranks second nationally.

Florida State's defense is struggling right now as it ranks 108th in points per game. The group is struggling against uptempo offenses, and they will play another Saturday against North Carolina. Coach Jimbo Fisher said the key is making a stop on first down to stunt the offensive rhythm.

Texas A&M leads the SEC in rushing through four weeks, averaging 269.3 yards per game and 7.04 yards per carry. Since joining the SEC, the Aggies are 28-1 in games they rush for 180 yards or more and they're 12-15 in games they rush for fewer than 180.

Louisville coach Bobby Petrino was asked about the LSU opening with Les Miles out during his weekly press conference Monday and reiterated his commitment to the Cards. "I'm not interested in going anywhere," Petrino said. "I'm very fortunate to be the head coach at the University of Louisville, very happy about that, very glad I have the support of our athletic director Tom Jurich. We feel like we've got everything going in the right direction. This is the job I want. This is where I'm going to be."
