The Baker Mayfield Bowl has arrived

Lubbock could get extra rowdy on Saturday. A nasty breakup and a long game of "he said, they said" come full circle when Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield returns to play Texas Tech, his former team.

Coaches hand out midseason honors

Which coaches are doing the best job? Which teams are for real? Who is the best player? We asked coaches from across the country their takes, and there are some surprising answers.

The first quarter in Manhattan featured nine Kansas State first downs and just 3:28 of offense for Texas. The Wildcats lead 7-0 and, of course, possess the ball to start the second quarter. QB Jesse Ertz has stayed primarily out of danger. Whatever plan Bill Snyder drew up before the game, it could not have looked much different than this.

Pack can't take advantage of turnover

Louisville's James Quick fumbles, and it's recovered by NC State's Josh Jones in Cardinals territory. The Wolfpack, however, went three-and-out and trail 10-0 on ABC.

Gopher runs through Rutgers defenders

Rodney Smith powers through for a 6-yard TD run to give Minnesota a 14-3 lead over Rutgers late in the first quarter on ESPNU.

Northwestern's stunning offensive turnaround continues, as the Wildcats have put two quick touchdowns on the board against Indiana. Pat Fitzgerald's team scored 92 points combined in back-to-back road games at Iowa and Michigan State. The wide receivers are catching everything and the offensive line has come together after a shaky start to the season. Wildcats still could be a factor in Big Ten West.

Kansas State strikes first against Texas

QB Jesse Ertz fakes the pitch and keeps it for a 6-yard TD run. Kansas State leads Texas 7-0 in the first quarter on ESPN2.

Harry and Linda Grandin bring their 1977 Volkswagen Transporter to every West Virginia home game. Harry bought the van in Temple, Texas, in 1982, and drove it for years, racking up 240,000 miles. After moving back to West Virginia, Harry and his daughter decorated the van with clip art and "Beat Pitt" stickers. A West Virginia native and 1974 WVU graduate, Harry keeps the van garaged for most of the year but drives it to Morgantown to the tailgating spot just north of Milan Puskar Stadium. The license plate: WV Bus.

Lamar Jackson wastes no time to score

Louisville's Heisman frontrunner ran for a 36-yard TD in the Cards' opening drive against NC State. It's Jackson's FBS-leading 31st total TD of the season.

Gophers leap into end zone on first drive

Shannon Brooks leaps over the goal line for a 1-yard TD run. After the 10-play drive, Minnesota leads Rutgers 7-0 on ESPNU.

Mitch Leidner is officially back for Minnesota, returning from concussion symptoms to take the first snap at quarterback. He promptly hit a deep ball, and having Leidner back is huge for a team that can take a big step toward bowl eligibility today against Rutgers and still has life in the Big Ten West Division.

Jesse Ertz gets the start at QB for Kansas State. Will be interesting to watch his arm strength.

Watch: NC State at No. 7 Louisville

Louisville is favored by 20 points at home, but the Wolfpack took No. 4 Clemson to overtime last week. The Pack are 0-7 against AP ranked opponents under head coach Dave Doeren. Live on ABC/WatchESPN

This man does his homework. With less than 30 minutes until kickoff, Kansas State coach Bill Snyder is still scouting the Longhorns. He is taking notes as he watches the Texas receivers.

D'Onta Foreman, the Big 12's leading rusher, faces a challenge today against the top rushing defense in the league. Foreman has run for 130 yards or more in every game has has played this season

Brian Bennett ESPN Staff Writer

Louisville's Lamar Jackson looks to add to his FBS-best 30 total touchdowns today as the No. 7 Cardinals host N.C. State. Jackson also needs 168 rushing yards to become the first quarterback in school history to rush for 1,000 in a season.

K-State QB Jesse Ertz appears ready to give it a try today against Texas. He suffered a shoulder injury last week in the Wildcats' loss at Oklahoma.

Anish Shroff ESPN Commentator

Minnesota's starting QB Mitch Leidner could return to the lineup today vs Rutgers. Leidner has been cleared to play after missing last week's game while in the concussion protocol. The team will make a decision after Leidner goes through warm ups.
