Morency has fluid drained from knee

STILLWATER, Okla. -- Vernand Morency did not play in the first half of Oklahoma State's game Saturday against Baylor after having fluid drained from his knee.

Morency, the nation's sixth-leading rusher, was available to play if needed but coaches wanted to rest him. He has been bothered by the knee since the Cowboys' win over Iowa State on Oct. 2.

Morency was replaced by Seymore Shaw, who rushed for 94 yards on 18 carries in the first half. Oklahoma State (No. 24 ESPN/USA Today, No. 25 AP) led 14-0 at halftime.

Morency, a junior, is averaging 149.6 yards per game.
