EUGENE, Ore. -- Robin Pflugrad, who has served as an
assistant and recruiting coordinator for five years at Washington
State, has been named wide receivers coach at Oregon, the school
Pflugrad, 47, replaces Dan Ferrigno, who left to become
receivers coach at California.
A native of Eugene, Pflugrad was a graduate assistant at his
alma mater Portland State in 1980 before spending one year as a
receivers and secondary coach at South Eugene High School.
He returned to Portland State in 1982, serving as a part-time
assistant coach and director of football promotions before becoming
a full-time assistant working with wide receivers and tight ends.
In 1986, he was named quarterbacks coach at Montana, and was
promoted to assistant head coach in 1991.
Pflugrad was recruiting coordinator and receivers coach at
Arizona State from 1995-2000. The Sun Devils led the Pac-10 in
rushing offense in 1996 and '97; total offense and scoring in 1996;
and passing offense in 2000.
"Coming back to Eugene is a complete positive for myself as
well as my family. I think I've applied at the University of Oregon
on five different occasions -- two under Rich Brooks and three under
coach Beloit," Pflugrad said.
