Penn State coach Joe Paterno said Tuesday that he will get his lingering right hip and leg injury checked out next week during his team's off week.
"I'm gonna take a day or two off and I'll let our doctors take a look at it and we'll see where we go from there," the 81-year-old Paterno said in a conference call.
Paterno coached from the press box for the third consecutive week last Saturday in the Nittany Lions' 46-17 victory over Michigan.
The last time Paterno spent an entire game on the sideline was Sept. 27 against Illinois.
Paterno, the winningest coach in major college football history with 380 victories, has said he injured his hip while demonstrating an onside kick during an August practice.
