Michigan St. suspends Chris L. Rucker

Michigan State senior cornerback Chris L. Rucker has been suspended at least one game for an unspecified violation of team rules.

Spartans coach Mark Dantonio said Sunday night that Rucker will miss this week's game against Illinois. It's possible that Rucker's suspension could last longer than a game.

True freshman Darqueze Dennard will start in Rucker's place against the Illini, Dantonio said.

Rucker has 40 tackles, three tackles for loss, a forced fumble and four pass breakups this season. He recorded his first interception of the season in Saturday's win against Michigan.
