As of Jan. 1, 2012, Miami will have two scholarship quarterbacks on its roster in Stephen Morris and incoming transfer Ryan Williams, who played last season at Memphis and will have to sit out this fall unless the NCAA grants a waiver.
Forcier's decision was a family one and was made before Williams transferred, a source told ESPN's Joe Schad.
Miami announced in February that Forcier had signed an aid agreement and planned to transfer, but he has not been on campus since he first visited the program.
As a freshman in 2009, Forcier started all 12 games for the Wolverines and completed 165 of 281 passes for 2,050 yards and 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
This past season, Forcier appeared in eight games as a backup to Denard Robinson and completed 54 of 84 passes for 597 yards with four touchdowns and four interceptions. He was declared
academically ineligible for Michigan's trip to
the Gator Bowl.
