No, people, that was not Penn State coach James Franklin Saturday morning on College GameDay, responding to critics that he ran up the score against Georgia State last week. "I got about 100 nasty messages from people that thought that was me," Franklin said after his team beat Iowa. It was actually comedian Keegan Michael-Key, impersonating the coach. "It's somewhat ridiculous that I have to say that," said Franklin, who knows Key and described the PSU grad as "an awesome guy."

Colorado wants no part of Dante Pettis in the punt return game. After returning a punt for a touchdown in each of the opening games, Pettis hasn't gotten a chance tonight.

Colorado QB Steven Montez has all the tools, but his decision-making tonight has lacked. The Buffs had some momentum after a missed Washington field goal, but their seven-point deficit doubled when Montez gift-wrapped a pick-six to UW's Myles Bryant. That one was on him.

Washington WR Chico McClatcher was slow to get up on a play late in the third quarter. He was helped off the field with what appeared to be a left leg injury.

UCLA QB Josh Rosen with an up and down first half, similar to what USC QB Sam Darnold did earlier today against Cal. Rosen was 16-of-28 for 176 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the opening two quarters against Stanford. Rosen only went under center twice but seemed perfectly comfortable out of the gun or at the line of scrimmage.

Today on Tobacco Road: NC State upset FSU in Tallahassee. Duke's 27-17 win was their largest at UNC since Steve Spurrier's 41-0 ACC title-clincher in '89. Wake Forest won via a blocked FG at old rival Appalachian State to reach 4-0. The three winners are now a combined 11-1 while UNC is 1-3.

Stanford offense is in desperate need of a quarterback. K.J. Costello provides a spark, but just took on 3 UCLA tacklers at the goal line. If David Shaw didn't faint, He'll tell Costello to cut it out

Notre Dame's Brian Kelly says it's time to put to bed the idea Brandon Wimbush can't throw after he went 14 of 20 for 173 yards in a win at Michigan State tonight.

How insanely history-rich is Sooners football? Saturday marked OU's 14th consecutive win, but that's only the program's 7th longest win streak...and still 33(!) wins behind the record run of 47 straight set in 1953-57.

Penn State coach James Franklin said he was approached by multiple players on Friday night about wearing Torrence Brown's jersey No. 19. Franklin picked fellow DE Shareef Miller, who responded with a big game that included a safety in the Nittany Lions' 21-19 win over Iowa. Brown, out with a knee injury suffered last week, will be awarded the game ball from this victory, Franklin said.

Colorado out-gained Washington 199-182 in what was a really competitive first half. Two interceptions halted CU drives in UW territory and a blocked punt setup the Huskies with their TD. Should be an interesting second half upcoming.

Kyle Bonagura ESPN Staff Writer

Earlier this week, Colorado coach Mike MacIntyre told ESPN one of the reasons he wanted to employ an up-tempo offense was specifically because of the altitude in Boulder. He thinks it plays a big factor in the second half. Tonight should be a good litmus test with the Buffs down 10-7 against Washington going into halftime.

I rode the elevator from the press box to the Kinnick concourse with Penn State coaches, whose faces showed a mix of shock and respect for Iowa. I don't think the feeling of victory had set in yet. They were incredibly quiet, considering what had just happened. Of course, when they exited the elevator and got on golf carts for a ride to the locker room as Iowa fans screamed unpleasant things, reality likely hit them square.

A blocked punt led to Washington's touchdown and an interception to a field goal. Colorado can't keep shooting itself in the foot if it wants to hang with a team like the Huskies.

A goal line stand from Notre Dame's defense pretty much zaps any drama left in East Lansing. Spartan Stadium is emptying out with about 10 minutes to play.

Penn State ran 99 plays, gained 571 yards, & needed walk-off TD pass scored to beat Iowa, 21-19. Nittany Lions dominated but nearly lost. Don't see that every Saturday. A lot to like about both teams.

Adam Rittenberg ESPN Staff Writer

Penn State's James Franklin and Joe Moorhead raved about Juwan Johnson in the offseason, saying he would help fill the void left by Chris Godwin and others in the passing game. Johnson's length is his best attribute. What a moment for his first career touchdown, and an even bigger moment for QB Trace McSorley as the Nittany Lions survive.

Mitch Sherman ESPN Staff Writer

Trace McSorley throws a strike to Juwan Johnson from seven yards out on fourth and goal as time expires. Penn State beats Iowa 21-19. What a game.

Touchdown Iowa. Akrum Wadley runs untouched for 35 yards. Iowa leads No. 4 Penn State 19-15 with 1:42 to play. It must go for two. Did the Hawkeyes score too soon? We'll see.

Myron Medcalf ESPN Staff Writer

Gus Malzahn on Kamryn Pettway: "He wasn't 100 percent. We'll see how he is this week."

Mitch Sherman ESPN Staff Writer

Saquon Barkley gets up slowly after jumping to a stop near the sideline, and Penn State's collective heart skips a beat. He appears to be OK but momentarily leaves the game at Iowa.

Alex Scarborough ESPN Staff Writer

Kirby Smart says that QB Jacob Eason couldn't have played tonight because he wasn't cleared by doctors.

Michele Steele ESPN Reporter

Asked James Franklin about Saquon Barkley before the season: "He's going to do great things on the field this year. Saquon is a guy who's going to do special things the rest of his life."

Mitch Sherman ESPN Staff Writer

Saquon Barkley is over 250 total yards from scrimmage on 34 touches. He is willing Penn State to victory. That is, if it wins.

Mitch Sherman ESPN Staff Writer

Oh, Iowa, how are you doing this? The Hawkeyes have just been hanging around. And suddenly, they're down two in the fourth quarter. Dangerous times for Penn State.
