A little thing they call the "Cage Sway" before the game. The Houston players do this in front of the student section before every home game at TDECU Stadium

How much has Greg Ward Jr. progressed as a passer? In the last play of the first quarter, he eluded a sack and had plenty of running room in front of him but decided to stay in the pocket and throw. It didn't work out (he ended up being tackled for a 1-yard gain) but in years past Ward would have taken off after dodging the sack.

Wisconsin linebacker Vince Biegel underwent surgery Thursday night to have a screw inserted for a cracked foot, his father, Rocky, told me. He said he hopes Biegel is out only 2-4 weeks. The news comes as a devastating blow ahead of No. 8 Wisconsin's game against No. 4 Michigan. Biegel has started 46 career games with 32 starts.

While Jalen Hurts is obviously the Tide's quarterback of the future, having Blake Barnett as an insurance policy was a luxury for Nick Saban and Lane Kiffin. Hurts likes to run the football and Alabama's offensive line hasn't done the best job of protecting him so far this season. With Barnett now gone, keeping Hurts healthy is going to be even more important moving forward.

It's clear from Nick Saban's statement that he wasn't pleased with QB Blake Barnett's decision to transfer. He wished Barnett luck on the one hand, but pointed out on the other that he's "disappointed any time a player feels he can compete for a starting position elsewhere, rather than here at Alabama."

Three starters are out for No. 6 Houston tonight: RB Duke Catalon (head injury), LB Tyus Bowser (head injury) and MLB Matthew Adams (coach's decision). Tom Herman will address the Adams decision after the game.

LSU interim coach Ed Orgeron says RB Leonard Fournette has not practiced this week and remains a gametime decision for Saturday's game against Missouri. Orgeron said "everything is looking pretty good" for DL Davon Godchaux to play Saturday following his temporary suspension earlier this week, although he made no assurances Godchaux would play.

UConn in the house, looking to see if it can repeat the feat it achieved last year, being the only team to beat Houston. Huskies (2-2) will give it a shot in less than an hour.

Greetings from TDECU Stadium in Houston, TX where we have a little Thursday night football between No. 6 Houston and UConn. Kickoff in about an hour. UConn is the only team to defeat Houston since Tom Herman took over as the Cougars' head coach last season (they're 17-0 against everyone else).

Wisconsin coach Paul Chryst addressed the season-ending back injury to kicker Rafael Gaglianone and his confidence in replacement Andrew Endicott moving forward. On Gaglianone, Chryst said, "It's another chance for him to reassess now and come out of it better."
