The Pullman Police Dept. confirmed that Washington State safety Shalom Luani was arrested early Wednesday morning and booked on second-degree felony assault chargers for allegedly breaking the nose of a 20-year-old man during an altercation at a Dominos Pizza. Luani was all-conference honorable mention in 2015 and finished third on the team with 90 tackles. The arrest comes on the heels of an investigation involving multiple WSU football players for another alleged assault at a house party. Cmdr. Chris Tennant of the Pullman Police Dept. said he hopes that investigation will be wrapped up this week.

Maryland has just named Perry Hills as its starting QB. The Terps' passing game struggled last year -- when Hills started eight games -- but Hills can at least make plays with his feet and adds another dimension to the offense.

Maryland has named Perry Hills its starting quarterback. Hills started eight games last season, completing 50 percent of his passes and throwing eight TDs and 13 interceptions. He also had three 100-yard rushing games, and the senior's mobility will help him run a hurry-up spread offense.

Washington is going through its second full scrimmage this morning. Since the Huskies open with Rutgers at 11 am PT on 9/3, coaches decided to mirror this scrimmage off that game. The team stayed in a hotel last night, had a team dinner and went through a 6:30 am wake up today in preparation. Coaches are hoping this mock game situation helps to adjust any kind of "body clock" issues (to borrow Stanford's term) the team could have next Saturday.
