West Virginia All-America wide receiver David Sills V will return for his senior season. Sills is a Biletnikoff Award finalist, leads the nation with 18 touchdown receptions and earned consensus All-America honors. He joins quarterback Will Grier, who also will return in 2018 after a strong first season in Morgantown. "It is important to me to finish what I started in the classroom and help our program win a Big 12 championship," Sills said in a statement.

Sources: Oregon State is hiring Wisconsin outside linebackers coach Tim Tibesar as defensive coordinator. BeaversEdge.com first reported the move. Tibesar has been a defensive coordinator at Purdue, the CFL's Montreal Alouettes, Kansas State and North Dakota. He was passed over for Wisconsin's DC job a few times but did great work with the Badgers' linebackers.

Dead period in college football began at midnight. Travel-weary coaches must back away from their planes, trains and automobiles. They can work the phones right on through the early signing period, which begins Wednesday.

ESPN 300 quarterback Justin Fields announced on Sunday that he will sign his national letter of intent on December 20 during the early signing period. The Georgia commit had a few schools come after him late in the process and speculation ensued on whether or not Fields would sign. He cleared that up with a tweet saying he will sign at noon at his high school.

Illinois tight end Luke Ford announced his top five on Sunday. The No. 63 ranked prospect is now considering Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Illinois and Texas A&M. It isn't know yet if Ford will sign early on December 20, but these are the final schools he will consider.

Offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer, the No. 28 ranked prospect overall, announced on Sunday that he will be signing early on December 20. There had been speculation on whether Salyer would sign or wait, but he ended that speculation saying he will end his recruitment. That could bode well for Georgia, who is the perceived favorite over Clemson, if Salyer does follow through and sign on Dec. 20.

ESPN 300 running back Markese Stepp committed to USC on Sunday. The No. 226 ranked prospect out of Indianapolis recently decommitted from Notre Dame and now lands with the Trojans. The commitment happened on the same day that Washington D.C. running back Mychale Salahuddin announced his decommitment from USC.

Middle Tennessee State has its fourth bowl win in program history and just its second since 1964. The Blue Raiders beat Arkansas State 35-30 in the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl

Arkansas State's Ja'Von Rolland-Jones needed one sack to break Terrell Suggs' FBS career record, but wasn't able to get it done in the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl. The two-time Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year finishes his career with 43.5 sacks.

The highlight of the first quarter in the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl was a 100-yard interception-plus-fumble return for a touchdown by Arkansas State that was erased by replay. Middle Tennessee State leads 7-3 on the strength of a 45-yard touchdown run from Terelle West.

Marshall beats Colorado State 31-28 in the Gildan New Mexico Bowl for its sixth straight bowl win. That's the longest active bowl winning streak in college football.

Colorado State is making things interesting in the Gildan New Mexico Bowl. The Rams were down 17 to Marshall headed into the fourth quarter, but just cut the deficit to three with 6:20 left.

Cedrick Wilson caught 10 passes for 221 yards and a touchdown to lead No. 25 Boise State to a 38-28 win against Oregon in the Las Vegas Bowl. Boise State coach Bryan Harsin improves to 42–12 as the Broncos' head coach, while Mario Cristobal will have to wait until next season to get his first win leading the Ducks.

Dating back to the Alamo Bowl in 2015, Oregon has not scored on offense in five straight bowl quarters in regulation. The Ducks scored in overtime against TCU and twice on defense against Boise State.
