The NCAA infractions committee will announce its decision in a case regarding Rutgers' football program on Friday. The Scarlet Knights are accused of seven violations involving alleged academic, recruiting and drug testing violations, including failure to monitor the program. The violations allegedly occurred prior to 2016 under former coach Kyle Flood.

Double-digit home underdogs in Power 5 conference play are 19-167 straight up over the last five seasons.

Quite a night so far for South Florida RB Darius Tice: 10 rushes, 100 yards, two touchdowns. Tice provides a really nice complement to Quinton Flowers in the Bulls' backfield, especially when Flowers is having an off night.

Chancellor Ronnie Green refutes the notion that Nebraska fired its athletic director now in order to clear a path for the new AD to make a decision about the football coach after this season. That's going to be a tough position to uphold if this season continues in a downward direction.

Interim AD expected to be named shortly at Nebraska. University leadership offers no timetable for naming a permanent athletic director. The school will use a search firm to assist in the hiring process. "We're going to take time to find the right person," chancellor Ronnie Green said.

University of Nebraska President Hank Bounds said he expects Mike Riley and the football team to continue to "compete" in the wake of the firing of AD Shawn Eichorst. "This is not about Mike Riley right now," Bounds said at a press conference with Chancellor Ronnie Green.
