With possibly two games against ranked opponents left, Alabama has already tied the single-season record for wins over ranked opponents in one season.

Greg Ostendorf ESPN Staff Writer

The folks in Tuscaloosa can rest easy tonight knowing that Alabama will likely be the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff thanks to Nick Saban, who is just two wins away from adding another national championship to his record.

Clemson is going to make this tougher than it has to be, which keeps with the trend all season. They've given up 216 yards on the last three possessions, and the Tigers lead 42-35 with 5:43 left. Does Deshaun Watson, who already has five total touchdowns, have one more drive in him?

Renfrow TD run give Tigers breathing room

Hunter Renfrow takes the pitch from Deshaun Watson on an option play and runs 15 yards for a score to give No. 3 Clemson a 42-28 lead over Virginia Tech midway through the fourth quarter of the ACC title game.

Virginia Tech making an upset bid

Jerod Evans muscles in for a 5-yard TD as No. 23 Virginia Tech continues its rally, cutting the Clemson lead to 35-28 in the fourth quarter of the ACC title game.

Talk about a change in momentum -- and Penn State owes most (all?) of it to quarterback Trace McSorley. On his last nine passes, dating back to the end of the second quarter, McSorley is 9-of-9 for 241 yards and four touchdowns. Incredible.

Nittany Lions take first lead on Barkley TD

Trace McSorley hits Saquon Barkley off the wheel route and leads him perfectly into the end zone for an 18-yard touchdown as No. 7 Penn State takes a 35-31 lead over No. 6 Wisconsin in the fourth quarter.

Jared Shanker ESPN Staff Writer

Maybe it was a miscommunication, but Clemson opted to rush zero against Virginia Tech shortly after taking a 35-14 lead. It turned into a long completion, and since then the Hokies are rolling. The Tigers' lead is down to seven, and the pressure has been turned up with a playoff 11:35 away.

ESPN Stats and Information

Penn State's Trace McSorley: 6-of-8, 201 yards, 3 TD on 15+ yard throws. Wisconsin had allowed 3 TD on such throws coming into tonight.

Pesky Hokies not going away in ACC

Russillo @ryenarussillo

About halfway through the season Penn St was last in CFB on 3rd down conversion. Incredible that this is the same team.

Barkley TD completes Penn State rally

Saquon Barkley tied the Big Ten Championship with a short touchdown run as No. 7 Penn State scored 21 straight points to tie No. 6 Wisconsin 28-28 in the third quarter.

No. 3 Clemson takes control

Deshaun Watson scores his second rushing touchdown of the game, to go along with two passing touchdowns, as Clemson takes control of the ACC Championship game leading No. 23 Virginia Tech 35-14.

Acrobatic interception for Clemson

Cordrea Tankersley tiptoes the sideline and intercepts a pass from Jerod Evans at the Clemson 49. No. 3 Clemson would go on to score a touchdown off the turnover to take a 35-14 lead over Virginia Tech in the third quarter.

Andrea Adelson ESPN Staff Writer

Virginia Tech intercepted Deshaun Watson early in the third quarter, down 21-14 with momentum. But the Hokies failed to take advantage of the turnover and Clemson made them pay, with consecutive scoring drives to blow the game open 35-14 late in the third quarter. So far in the third quarter, Virginia Tech has minus-14 yards.

ESPN Stats and Information
