Not as many day games at Stanford as there used to be, so not as many chances to get this sun-splashed shot of campus.

No. 8 Nebraska plays host to Purdue today, and it will be a story of two teams heading in opposite directions. Nebraska is 6-0 under second-year coach Mike Riley and looking at a potentially huge showdown next Saturday against Wisconsin to take full control of the Big Ten West. Purdue fired coach Darrell Hazell after a poor performance against Iowa last week. Interim coach Gerad Parker faces a tough task in trying to implement substantial changes over the final six games. But Purdue, at 3-3, still has a chance to reach a bowl game.

In a play emblematic of BC's offensive struggles, Patrick Towles appears to hit Michael Walker on third-and-long inside the 5, but the ball gets stripped and lands in the hands of Syracuse's Parris Bennett for what will go down as an interception. The Orange take over at their own 12.

Max Olson ESPN Staff Writer

Kansas made a QB change again this week, benching Ryan Willis for Montell Cozart, and it's paying off so far vs. Oklahoma State. Cozart is 19/26 passing, has 220 total yards and the Jayhawks are keeping it close today, down just 24-20 late in the third quarter.

Texas backup QB rushes for score

Tyrone Swoopes takes it himself for an 8-yard TD. At the start of the fourth quarter, Kansas State leads Texas 24-14 on ESPN2.

Gamecocks own comfy lead

After David Williams' 1-yard TD run, South Carolina leads UMass 34-14 in the third quarter on SEC Network.

Gophers respond with 94-yard kick return

After Rutgers' pick-six that would have tied the game with the extra point (PAT failed), Minnesota responded with a 94-yard kick return to make it 31-23 on ESPNU.

Touchdown, Texas, on the 8-yard Tyrone Swoopes keeper in the final minute of the third quarter. His touches today have been limited -- along with the rest of the Texas offense. Perhaps too little, too late for the Longhorns but if UT gets the ball back still down 24-14, it would be well served to use Swoopes in a bigger role.

Stanford OL Dave Bright won't play today.

Now a three-score deficit for Texas at Kansas State, 24-7 after the Wildcats atoned for their lone red-zone mishap of the season by stopping the Longhorns on fourth down and driving for a 35-yard field goal by Matthew McCrane. There's not much hope at this point for Texas -- in this game and potentially this season (and the Charlie Strong era) if UT can't generate a lot more energy in a hurry with Baylor up next in Austin.

Badgers' 57-yard pass sets up score

Alex Hornibrook's 57-yard pass to Quintez Cephus sets up a Corey Clement TD run. No. 10 Wisconsin leads Iowa 14-6 on ESPN.

Stanford CB Alijah Holder is warming up and looks healthy. That's a big add for the Cardinal.

In green marker, on the bathroom wall of Michigan Stadium's press box, someone scrawled the score from last year's crazy Michigan State-Michigan game. The rematch is a week away.

Texas forces fumble near goal line

Kansas State's Charles Jones fumbles before reaching the end zone and Texas recovers for a touchback. The Longhorns trail 21-7 in the third quarter on ESPN2.

Dino Babers liked what his team gave him in the first half, but he lamented the Orange's 7 penalties in the halftime TV interview. It's a 14-10 Cuse lead at BC, but the visitors have given the ball away twice and allowed a special teams TD, in addition to missing a FG. They do have Eric Dungey, though, who has completed 18 of 21 passes for 203 yards with 1 TD and 1 pick, in addition to rushing for 57 yards. The rainy conditions will likely be a factor in the second half.

UCF takes first lead over UConn

McKenzie Milton connects with Adrian Killins for a 39-yard TD. The Knights, who had trailed all day, now lead 21-16 in the third quarter.

Rutgers' Patton hauls in 37-yard TD

Andre Patton makes a great 37-yard TD catch to cut into Minnesota's lead. The Golden Gophers lead 21-17 on ESPNU.

Texas opened the third quarter with possession, badly in need of something good to happen -- and showed little creativity in handing twice to D'Onta Foreman, who got 4 yards before a broken-play scramble by Buechele came up short. Hard to believe that's what the Longhorns devised in the locker room at halftime. They seem out of ideas.

Daytime football at Stanford today, where a much-improved Colorado squad will take on Christian McCaffrey and Co.

Sheer dominance in all aspects by Louisville, which leads NC State 44-0 at halftime. The Cardinals outgained the Wolfpack 390-54, forced three turnovers and blocked a punt. Louisville only has one marquee game left -- at Houston on Nov. 17 -- so it needs to impress to stay in the playoff hunt.
