BYU's fake punt on fourth-and-19 from its own 5-yard line went … well, it did not go well. Punter Jonny Linehan made it out of the end zone, but was tackled before reaching the line of scrimmage. BYU coach Kalani Sitake offered the following explanation before going to the locker room at halftime: "Well, on film we thought we had it. We wanted to be aggressive. We came to win the game and it just didn't work out. They made a great adjustment – something that we haven't seen in prior games. But we wanted to be aggressive and it didn't hurt us. Our defense had our backs."

Boise State regains lead on third TD pass

Cedrick Wilson snatches Brett Rypien's 36-yard pass for a touchdown despite double coverage 35 seconds before halftime. The Broncos lead BYU 21-17 at intermission.

Just when it looked like Boise State had a good chance to run away with this game, BYU is right back in it. First, the Cougars blocked a FG attempt. Then, after a field goal of its own, BYU got a highlight-reel interception return for a touchdown from Fred Warner to make it 14-10.

BYU has clarified that RB Jamaal Williams is dealing with a right ankle injury. His status for the rest of the game has yet to be determined.

It does not appear running back Jamaal Williams will play tonight for BYU. He was not on the field during first two drives of the game and it is unclear why. Williams, who ranks second in the country with 942 rushing yards, was seen on a stationary bike on the sideline. Squally Canada, a one-time Boise State commit, started in his place. Canada came into the game with 124 yards rushing this year.

Broncos build lead with second TD
