UCF declared itself national champs after finishing undefeated last season. So naturally there's now a sign inside the stadium.

It's hard to take away much of anything from a spring game, but Georgia QB Jake Fromm hasn't been sharp. He threw his second interception to William Poole on a poor pass into double coverage late in the third quarter, and he might have had three picks if Richard LeCounte hadn't dropped the ball in the first half.

Georgia's attendance for Saturday's G-Day game was 82,148, the second biggest crowd to watch a spring game in school history. A record 93,000 watched Kirby Smart's first spring game in 2016.

With Tua Tagovailoa sidelined, Jalen Hurts didn't do himself any favors in the quarterback competition, completing 19-37 passes for 195 yards, no touchdowns and one interception. Said Nick Saban: "I was not disappointed in the way Jalen played. I think we have some guys that can rush a little bit ... there was way too much pressure on the pocket for the quarterback to operate like we like."

Georgia probably won't match the 93,000 fans who watched Kirby Smart's first spring game in 2016. But there's probably more than 85,000 on hand on Saturday

Georgia receivers haven't helped QB Jake Fromm, dropping two long passes that might have been touchdowns. Riley Ridley was injured while trying to haul in a touchdown pass in the end zone. Riley walked off the field and didn't appear to be badly injured.

Georgia QB Jake Fromm threw only seven interceptions as a freshman starter in 2017, but teammate Deandre Baker picked off a poorly thrown pass and returned it for a Pick-6 for the first score in the G-Day game.

Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt's instant reaction on the Vol Network following his first Orange and White spring game was that he needs more competitors in his program. He said nobody's entitled to anything.

Georgia freshman QB Justin Fields, the No. 1 recruit in the country in the ESPN 300, completed 3 of 5 passes on his first possession in the G-Day game. Fields completed his first three passes and the fourth was a drop.

The first touchdown pass of Alabama's spring game didn't come until the second quarter, and it didn't come from either Jalen Hurts or Tua Tagovailoa. Instead, third-string QB Mac Jones tossed the 65-yard touchdown. Hurts is off to a mediocre start, completing 2-4 passes for 14 yards. Tagovailoa is dressed out but is not expected to play after aggravating a broken finger in his throwing hand last weekend.
