USC coach Clay Helton was good-spirited when asked about the "noise" that has come as a result of the Trojans' 1-3 start. "I know the expectations of SC and I'm a realist," he said. "We're in a production-based business, if you don't win, especially at this level, there's going to be griping and it's well-deserved."

How about that KU defense? Texas Tech lost a bit of its offensive edge with a 14-0 lead, but credit the Jayhawks -- big hits and they're getting after Mahomes. The Jayhawks got three consecutive stops, including an interception by Fish Smithson and a safety on a botched punt. It's 14-2 in Lubbock.

No slowing down Houston's Ward Jr.

Greg Ward Jr. threw his second TD pass of the second quarter, finding Steven Dunbar for 15 yards in the back of the end zone.

Only 40 passing yards for Patrick Mahomes II on Texas Tech's second touchdown drive. That's got to be disappointing. In all seriousness, Tech is meeting almost no resistance from the Kansas secondary in the first quarter tonight. Mahomes hit 9 of 10 throws for 120 yards as the Red Raiders scored twice in the first five minutes.

Are the Dolphins trying to prove Xavien Howard's worth $15 million per year by having him man up across the field on A.J. Green? Help him.
